What's inside?

Bath bombs

Bath bombs work by combining sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and citric acid. When these two ingredients come into contact with water they produce carbon dioxide, which is what you see in the form of bubbles and fizz. Not only is baking soda a key ingredient of any bath bomb, but it is known for many benefits to your skin including its cleansing and detoxifying properties. Potassium bitartrate and tapioca starch both help to soften the water, and will leave your skin feeling extra silky smooth.

Oils such as sweet almond (prunus amygdalus dulcis) and coconut (cocos nucifera) are used for their ability to be absorbed by the skin, leaving you with naturally moisturised and soft skin. Polysorbate 80 is used as an emulsifier - this means that these lovely nourishing oils end up on your skin and not the side of your tub or floating on top of the water.

You might see the ingredients sodium cocoyl isethionate (SCI) and sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSA), and whilst they look a bit daunting and difficult to pronounce, both of these ingredients are derived from coconuts! They are what is known as a surfactant, which is a fancy word for saying they help clean your skin. In some products, they're also responsible for the beautiful foam that swirls around your bathtub.

The beautiful sparkles you'll find on some of our bath bombs is biodegradable glitter that is 100% plastic-free and aluminium-free. Whilst approved by the Vegetarian Society, these glitters are not vegan: shellac is produced from the secreted resin of juvenile insects after they have swarmed the host tree. The process causes no harm, distress, or interruptions of the cycle. It is a natural and environmentally friendly process.

All of our ingredients (and products) are not tested on animals.

Fun fact: The botanicals used in our bath bombs are sourced right from Daisy Bath & Body HQ in Napier, New Zealand. They are pesticide and spray-free, and grown lovingly by Amy and her two daughters.
